Christianity, Religion & Homosexual Teenagers in the family

When I watch the film Prayers for Bobby I had no idea what it was about, it was on TV and stared Sigourney Weaver.  She has been in many good films so why not try this, I thought.

It was compelling and sad, I cried and cried.  It is based on a true story. About a Christian family with a gay son.
Watch it with plenty of tissues handy.

I would recommend it to any family, specially those with deeply held religious convictions who also think being homosexual is a sin.  The film forces you to think about what if this was one of your children - gay kids are not only strangers, out there in families you don't know.

The film is based on a book, is available on DVD and is also on you tube so you can watch it here:

The Prayers for Bobby Film is obviously made for adults but I would be happy for my children to watch it with me at the ages of about 10+.
